• Chinese immigrant entrepreneurs in Canada wish to keep in close touch with their counterparts in China,
  through trade deals, imports and exports, and service exchanges.
• Special packages are offered to our web users/advertisers at discounted prices, including web development for those who have difficulty in the English language and who are not technologically
  inclined.

History of FCCM:

• Established in 1989 and formally incorporated on May 22, 1992
• Managed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
• A not-for-profit organization dedicated to the provision of services to the Chinese community
• FCCM also helps in integration of Chinese Canadians into the mainstream of Canada
• Actively working towards its goals in a variety of social, cultural, and business activities to assist not
  only Chinese but also other ethnic groups in Canadian society
• Involved with community outreach to Canada and the world (E.g.: Iran and China)
• Formed close friendships with other ethnic groups (e.g.: the Association of Progressive Muslims of
  Ontario (APMO) and the Canadian Federation of Intercultural Friendship (CFIF))
• Activities include events such as the annual Taste of Asia Street Festival in Markham in which over
  60,000 people are expected to attend, fundraising for charities and community service.
• Supported by the Government of Canada

Divisions of FCCM (Four main divisions):

• Markham Chinese Seniors Association (seniors’ welfare)
• Chinese Canadian Sports and Recreation Club of Markham (Boy Scouts, sports practices and tournaments, etc.)
• Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Markham (business information, networking, seminars, etc.)
• Markham Chinese Cultural Centre (recreational, cultural, and educational courses, etc.)

FCCM and China:

• Has always had a close association with China
• Has arranged fact finding trips to China for the Town of Markham (1994, 1996, 1998)
• Hosted Chinese delegations for business exchanges (E.g.: Business Delegation of Songjiang County of Shanghai, Foreign Economic Relations Commission of Nanshi District Shanghai, and Nanshi District
  Food Delegation).
