Markham
Mayor Don Cousens |
Don Cousens is the Mayor
for the Town of Markham, and he is serving his
3rd term as mayor. He previously was a Member of Provincial
Parliament between 1981-1994, serving as a Minister of Correctional
Services in 1985. Don Cousens has a B.A. from Queen's University,
and attended Knox College, University of Toronto. He has
been a Markham resident for approximately 30 years and helped
to launch the ‘Mayors Youth Task Force’ in 1995
with over 350 youth involved.
Don's has always been actively involved within
the community, participating in the fundraising efforts
for Markhaven Nursing Home, Unionville Home Society, and
the Yee Hong Wellness Centre.
Don has also participated in helping Markham
with major awards:
